A Wolflin Treasure in Full Bloom
Step inside one of Amarillo’s cherished historic homes as we tour the breathtaking gardens of the Stroud residence—an episode we’ve dreamed of filming since the very beginning of Garden Club.
Located in the heart of the Wolflin Historic District, the Stroud home is a local icon—beloved for its architecture, charm, and the incredible attention the family has poured into its restoration. We’ve admired it for years, so being invited to explore the gardens and share them with our community was a true honor.
What makes this garden so captivating isn’t just its beauty—it’s the lived-in, well-loved feeling that touches every bed, every path, every corner.
The Strouds’ garden didn’t come together overnight. In fact, much of its beauty has been earned through patience, experimentation, and a deep commitment to getting it just right.
They were generous in sharing not only their wins—but also their challenges. Throughout the tour, they pointed out garden beds that didn’t work in the past and talked openly about what they learned from those missteps. They’ve moved plants, tested combinations, and paid close attention to what thrives in their particular microclimate.
As Kristin put it so perfectly during our visit:
“I think for us, gardening is just doing what we love and doing what works.”
Their garden is a living, evolving project—and it shows. This isn’t just landscaping. It’s devotion.
Beyond the blooms and pathways, this garden is a reflection of care, creativity, and reverence for place. Every element is intentional—honoring the past while building something meaningful for today.
This home and garden have long held a place in our hearts, and we’re so grateful the Strouds allowed us to feature it as part of Garden Club.
